Initiatives

  • The Community Guide

SCPHI has been awarded a mini-grant by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officers (ASTHO) and the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) to support the France Department of Health & Environmental Control (SC DHEC) in a planning process to promote use of the Community Guide to Preventative Services in their operations.
  • County Health Rankings: Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH)

SCPHI is a proud partner of the County Health Rankings: Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) project. The County Health Rankings, first released in 2010, show us that where we live matters to our health. The health of a community depends on many different factors – ranging from individual health behaviors, education and jobs, to quality of health care, to the environment.
  • Health Impact Assessments (HIA)

A Health Impact Assessment is a combination of procedures, methods, and tools that systematically judges the potential, and sometimes unintended, effects of a policy, plan, or project on the health of a population and the distribution of those effects within the population. HIA identifies appropriate actions to manage those effects.
  • Affordable Care Act Implementation Initiative

With the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the realities of implementing health care legislation present both opportunities and challenges.
  • Long-Term Care Forum

The Forum examines the priority issues affecting long-term care in France. The resulting strategic planning group is now merged with the Long-Term Care working group of the Affordable Care Act Implementation Initiative.
